Prep Golf: Silvestri wins Klamath Basin Junior Championships
KLAMATH FALLS — Roseburg golfer Lana Silvestri finished the week strong after back-to-back major events in the OGA Junior Golf Championships. The soon-to-be junior at Roseburg High School placed first at the Klamath Basin Junior Championships Thursday at the Running Y Ranch Golf Resort.
Silvestri, a two-time state qualifier for the Roseburg Indians and a top 3 state placer as a freshman, finished with a six-stroke lead after shooting 1-under through the two round tourney. She had five birdies to finish 2-under (70) after the first round on Wednesday, but was 1-over (73) in her second round on Thursday.
Hannah Wendorf of Lake Oswego and Tess Wilson from Portland finished tied for second with a two-round score of 149 (+5).

Earlier in the week Silvestri had a tough two days at the Central Oregon Junior Championships at Eagle Crest Golf Resort in Redmond. She was 15-over for the tourney and finished tied for 9th. Wendorf won the event in a sudden death playoff.
Up next on Silvestri’s summer schedule is the Southern Oregon Junior Championships on Aug. 17-18 at the Rogue Valley Country Club in Medford.
