Prep Golf: Roseburg girls advance to Class 6A state tournament

EAGLE POINT — The Roseburg girls golf team secured a berth in the Class 6A state championships with a second place finish at the Special District 3 Regional tournament Tuesday at Eagle Point Golf Club.
The Indians (381) finished six-strokes behind Grants Pass (375) in the team standings. Both teams will compete in the two-day state championship tournament starting Monday at the OGA Golf Course in Woodburn.
Lana Silvestri led Roseburg with a first place finish on the individual leaderboard. The sophomore had three birdies over the 18-hole course, but three bogeys and a double-bogey put her at 2-over for the round.
Silvestri was 12-strokes ahead of second place.
Alexis Williams (96) and Irelyn Weaver (98) both finished in the top 10 for the Indians. Raeleigh Traviss (113) and Mylie Ray (113) tied for 15th.
This will be the first time Roseburg has had its full girl’s team competing at state since the Indians finished 11th in 2019. Silvestri and Apollonia Heap qualified for state as individuals in 2025.
Silvestri placed third in the individual standings as a freshman. Heap, now graduated, finished tied for 56th.
