Prep Boys Basketball: Roseburg succumbs to North Medford’s pressure in 91-58 loss
After a tight first quarter, the North Medford boys basketball team put its foot on the gas and pulled away from the Roseburg Indians for a 91-58 win in a Southwest Conference game Tuesday night at Robertson Memorial Gymnasium.
Roseburg (0-21, 0-9 SWC) traded the lead with North Medford (5-15, 3-5) through the first quarter. The Black Tornado held a slim 19-17 lead after the opening eight minutes.
Things changed in a hurry over the next two periods. North Medford outscored the Indians 62-25 from the second quarter through the third.
North Medford’s full-court press harassed the Indians all night, forcing over 20 turnovers.
Liam Rea had a game-high 28 points for the Black Tornado. Bryan Nunez added 17 and Za’Khyem Tuivanu-Robinson chipped in 10.
Roseburg’s Preston Sprague had a career-high 22 points to lead the Indians. Tristen Frable contributed 13 points.
Roseburg will host South Medford at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday.
