UCC Wrestling: Riverhawks crown four individual champs at Region 18 Championships

WINCHESTER — The Umpqua Community College women’s wrestling team hosted the Region 18 championships on Sunday and had four individual champions on the way to a second place finish in the team standings. 

Kailey Salazar (110), Myra Pressnell (124), Bella Ngo (131) and Addison Canja (160) all took first place in their respective weight classes. UCC’s champs claimed each of their victories by technical fall or fall. 

Second-place finishers for UCC included; Alisa Murillo (117), Brianna Ross (124), Evelina Juzenaite (145) and Talia Katzenberger (235).

Snow College tallied 214 points to earn the team title. Umpqua had 191 points for second.

The Umpqua women will next compete at the Jimmy May Open on Saturday.
