
NWAC selects UCC women’s team and RHS grad for HOF

VANCOUVER — The Northwest Athletic Conference announced the Hall of Fame selections for the class of 2026 in a release last week.
This year’s class features standouts from the South Region, including a championship team from Umpqua Community College and a Roseburg High School graduate.
The 1996-97 UCC women’s basketball team will be inducted this summer. The group won the first NWAC championship in school history. Members of the team included Darolyn Custodio, Sarah Coleman, Linda Stricklin (Leinonen), Elysia Sechler, Kizzie Courtney, Sherri Nowak, Katie Tipton, Hannah Combs (Mercado), Regina Berry (Komine), and Teresa Gethins.
Shelby Snook, now Shoffner, is a 2013 Roseburg High School graduate and was a star at Lane Community College from 2013-16. She was named the conference tournament MVP after helping lead the Titans to a conference title in 2016. At the conclusion of her career at Lane, Snook was the school’s career record-holder in scoring with 1,232 points, assists (419), field goals made (439), field goals attempted (900) and free throws made (294).
The 2026 NWAC Hall of Fame Induction Dinner & Awards Ceremony will take place on Thursday, June 4, 2026 at the Sheraton Portland Airport Hotel in Portland, Oregon. Tickets will be available for purchase at a to-be-determined date. Event details can be found at www.nwacsports.org/halloffame.
