#UmpquaPreps — Playoff baseball/softball semifinals schedule

A return trip to the state championship game is one win away for three Umpqua Basin ball clubs as they take the field in the semifinals Tuesday.

The last trip to the state title game for Umpqua Valley Christian baseball and South Umpqua softball was just last year when both programs claimed the championship. For North Douglas softball, it’s been five years since the Warriors won it all in 2019.

No matter how long it’s been, all three programs are hungry to get back to the finals this weekend.

Umpqua Valley Christian, the top-seed in Class 2A/1A, will have a rematch with the No. 4 Knappa Loggers, who the Monarchs beat for the 2024 state championship. Knappa is the only Class 2A/1A school to beat UVC this season. The Loggers defeated the Monarchs 2-1 on April 5 in Roseburg.

Tuesday’s semifinals contest gets underway at 4:30 p.m. from Champion Car Wash Field. Watch the playoff game streaming live at 541radio.com.

The South Umpqua Lancers also have a 2024 title game rematch in the semifinals Tuesday. No. 4-seeded SU heads to top-seed Scio looking to earn another late season win over the Loggers. The semifinal matchup for South Umpqua and Scio gets started at 5 p.m. from Scio High School.

In the Class 2A/1A softball playoffs, the No. 6 North Douglas Warriors earned a 7-6 road upset over No. 3 Clatskanie last week to reach the semifinals for a second consecutive season. The Lady Warriors look to keep it going as they visit No. 2 Weston-McEwen in  Athena, Oregon. The game gets underway at 4 p.m.
