Roseburg’s Silvestri runs away with title at Tokatee Girls Invitational

MCKENZIE BRIDGE — Roseburg freshman Lana Silvestri continued her impressive debut in high school golf with an individual tournament title at the Tokatee Girls Invitational hosted by Sheldon on Tuesday.

Silvestri was the only golfer to finish the 18-hole course under par and beat the competition by eight strokes. Grants Pass senior Chloe Daywitt finished second with a score of 78, six-over.

It was the second consecutive tournament win for Silvestri. Her round was highlighted by an eagle on the par-5, 361-yard 16th hole. Silvestri also had five birdies.

Roseburg only had three golfers compete and did not qualify for the team standings. Sophomore Raeleigh Traviss carded a 102 and junior Alexis Williams shot 117.

The Roseburg girls are scheduled to host the RHS Invitational at the Roseburg Country Club at 11 a.m. Monday.
