Ducks land atop the first CFP rankings of the season
For the first time in program history, the Oregon Ducks are the No. 1 team in the College Football Playoff rankings.
The first release of the top 25 rankings were unveiled on Tuesday with the Ducks at the top, mirroring Oregon’s spot in the Associated Press rankings and Coaches Poll. Oregon’s previous best ranking was No. 2 back in 2014, when the Ducks reached the inaugural four-team playoff.
UO is one of four Big Ten teams in the CFP top 10, along with No. 2 Ohio State, No. 6 Penn State and No. 8 Indiana.
The CFP rankings will be updated Tuesday, Nov. 12.

The four highest-ranked conference champions will be seeded Nos. 1-4 and receive a first-round bye. Seeds 5-12 will play each other in the first round. The higher-seeded teams will play host in their first round games.
