Docs overmatch Salem 27-0 to begin Father’s Day Tournament
The Roseburg Dr. Stewart’s cruised by the Salem Withnell Dodgers 27-0 in the first game for both teams in Roseburg’s Father’s Day Tournament Friday at Champion Car Wash Field.
The game was ended after four innings.
The Docs broke the game open with 10 runs in the second inning and then buried the Dodgers with 17 runs in the third.
Salem (0-2) used four pitchers, who issued 12 walks and hit seven batters. Roseburg (4-3) had 10 hits, including four triples and a double.
Tyler Haynes and Cal Robbins both had two hits in the game.
Camden Hartsell pitched four innings to earn the win for the Docs. He allowed a single to LIam Hynes in the second for Salem’s only hit of the game. Hartsell had eight strikeouts and a hit batter.
Roseburg will play twice on Day 2 of the tournament Saturday. The Docs play Mid-Valley at 8:40 a.m. and Corvallis at 7:30 p.m.
In other tournament games, Medford beat Corvallis 6-0 and Mid-Valley took down Klamath Falls 5-2.
