Roseburg’s Popken places 84th at 6A boys golf state championships
BANKS — Roseburg’s Tyler Popken finished the Class 6A boys state championship tournament with a Round 2 score of 96 on Tuesday at Quail Valley Golf Course.
The senior had a two-day score of 24-over par and placed 84th in the individual standings. Popken’s scorecard did not have a birdie recorded. He made par on five holes, including his final hole of the tournament.
Lake Oswego sophomore Drew Woolworth ran away with the individual title, carding the only two-round score under par (4-under, 137).
The Jesuit boys claimed the 6A state championship by five strokes with a total score of 595.
