Riverhawks baseball prepare to host NWAC Super Regional
The Umpqua Riverhawks wrapped up the regular season with a doubleheader split against the Mt. Hood Saints on Saturday at Bill Grey Legion Stadium at Champion Car Wash Field.
UCC dropped the opener 5-2, but rallied for a 4-0 win in the nightcap.
The Riverhawks (34-13, 24-12 South Region) finished in second place in the South Region and will get to host a Super Regional as the NWAC postseason begins later this week. The three-team regional tourney gets started on Friday at Champion Car Wash Field.
Clark (26-18, 15-9 West) and Bellevue (22-23-1, 14-10 North) get the tourney started in a single-elimination game Friday at 1 p.m. The winner moves on to face the Riverhawks in a best of three series starting Friday at 4 p.m.
The second game of the series will be played on Saturday at noon and if necessary, a third game would be played at 3 p.m.
The winner of the Super Regional tournament moves on to the NWAC championship tournament at Lower Columbia College in Longview, Wash. The tournament runs May 23-27.
