Roseburg boys lacrosse drops lopsided tilt with South Eugene, 20-6
The South Eugene boys lacrosse team scored early and often on the way to a dominant 20-6 win over the Roseburg Indians in a Southwest Conference match on Friday at Finaly Field.
South Eugene (7-4, 4-1 SWC) got six goals from senior Lucas Clemons and junior Bilii Blackhorn chipped in five goals.
The Axe jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the first quarter, scoring a trio of goals in the final 30 seconds.
Roseburg (5-8, 1-4) broke the shutout with a goal by Dom Williams with 2:25 left to play in the first half. Williams added a second goal 33 seconds later and Oscar Stribling tacked on a third goal to get the Tribe within 9-3 at halftime.
Stribling finished with three goals to lead Roseburg.
South Eugene pulled away in the third period with eight goals. The Axe remain a game behind SWC leader Sheldon.
Roseburg will play Thurston in a conference contest at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday in Springfield.
