Track & Field — Local winners from Wednesday’s meets

GRANTS PASS — The Roseburg boys and girls track and field teams were in Grants Pass to square off with the Cavemen on Wednesday at Russ Werner Field, but came up a little short in the team scores.

The Grants Pass boys topped Roseburg 86-59, while the Roseburg girls fell to the Lady Cavers 98-43.

Winning events for Roseburg were;

400m — Joseph Latham, 51.89 (PR)

800m — McLane Stedman, 2:07.59 (PR)

3,000m — Brayden Powell, 10:47.23 (PR)

300m hurdles — Carson Yraguen, 43.7

Boys 4x400m — Brody Robinson, Peyton Fisher, Joseph Latham, Marcus Lobo, 3:38.67

Javelin — Izak Hutchins, 154′ 6″

High Jump — Damien Bratcher, 5′ 8″

3,000m — Haylee Blue, 14:05.41

High Jump — Addison Scalf, 4′ 10″

Long Jump — Leighton Osborn, 15′ 5.5″ (PR)

The Sutherlin and Oakland track and field teams were at a Class 3A Special District 4 meet at Elmira High School on Wednesday. The Bulldogs and Oakers had a handful of athletes win events at Don Schmidt Field, but not enough to win the team scores.

The Sutherlin boys finished third, while the girls took fifth. The Oakland boys were fifth and the girls placed sixth.

Local winners at the event included;

800m — James Baimbridge, Oakland, 2:06.99

Boys 4x100m — Aaron Worley, Andrew Worley, Shawn Ellsworth, Hunter VanBuren; Sutherlin, 45.92

Shot Put — Rylan Bryant, Sutherlin, 46′ 1.75″ (PR)

Long Jump — Hunter VanBuren, Sutherlin, 20′ 3″ (PR)

Triple Jump — Jack Kamel, Oakland, 34′ 11″ (PR)

Long Jump — Paige Edmonson, Sutherlin, 16′ 1″

Pole Vault — Paige Edmonson, Sutherlin, 8′ 2″ (PR)

Shot Put — Dixie Marchi, Oakland, 31′ 0.5″ (PR)

3,000m — Callie Sarnoski, Oakland, 12:21.27
