Roseburg announces Woodley as next volleyball head coach

Kelly Woodley has been chosen as the next head coach of the Roseburg High School volleyball team, athletic director Adam Blue announced on Wednesday.

Woodley was previously an assistant on the team under Lacy Pinard, who stepped down from the head coach position at the end of last season. Pinard had led the team for two seasons and went 36-15 overall with a 6th place finish at state in her first year at the helm.

Woodley has also worked as a coach for club teams in the Roseburg area, according to Blue. She inherits a Roseburg team that finished second in the Southwest Conference last season and reached the second round of the state playoffs. The Indians had just two seniors on the roster and could potentially return a significant number of experienced players, including all-Southwest Conference selections Shaylee Swartzendruber and Masyn Tabor.
