Hartsell’s no-hitter paces Roseburg baseball to 16-0 win over Elmira
SPRINGFIELD — Camden Hartsell threw a no-hitter and Jake Johnson drove in three runs as the Roseburg High School baseball team blanked Elmira 16-0 in six innings at the Springfield Tournament on Tuesday at the Hamlin Sports Complex.
Hartsell earned a complete-game victory and faced just two batters over the minimum. The senior struck out 11 and walked two.
Class 6A Roseburg (5-3) jumped on Class 3A Elmira (3-6) early with two runs in each of the first three innings. The Indians put the game away with nine runs in the sixth inning.
Johnson went 2-for-3 at the plate with a two-run double in the sixth. Paxton Burke and Dane St. Clair also had two hits in the game and drove in a run.
Heath King also drove in a pair of runs with a single in the sixth.
Roseburg will face Springfield at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Hamlin Sports Complex.
