The Roseburg Indians landed four boys and one girl on the All-Southwest Conference teams, Roseburg High School athletic director Adam Blue announced Monday.

Senior Mykah Mendoza headlined this season’s selections with his second consecutive first-team honor. Mendoza led Roseburg in scoring with an average of 20 points per game. He also ranked first in assists per game (3.6) and second in rebounds (4.3).

Mendoza graduates from the program with 1,321 total points, second most in school history. He trails Collin Warmouth, who scored 1,599 points from 2016-19.

South Medford senior Jackson Weiland repeated as the SWC Player of the Year. Weiland helped guide the Panthers to a third consecutive undefeated league championship.

South Medford’s James Wightman was named the SWC Coach of the Year for a third straight season. Grants Pass senior Jayden Jessee earned the conference’s top defensive award.

Roseburg senior Asher Vredenburg was nominated for his first all-conference award, landing on the second team after putting up an average of 15.1 points per game and a team-high 5.7 rebounds.

Senior Jullian Lopez and junior Owen Bentea were received honorable mention for the Indians. The honors are the first for both Lopez and Bentea.

Senior guard Sydnee Muntifering received honorable mention for the RHS girls. It’s the first award for Muntifering, who led the Indians in scoring.
