Thursday was a pretty good day at state for Douglas County basketball teams. Here’s a recap of what took place for local teams.

COOS BAY — The Sutherlin girls will get to stay in Coos Bay into the weekend after beating Creswell 48-32 in the Class 3A quarterfinals Thursday night at Marshfield High School.

Madison Wagner led the Bulldogs with 14 points and Addy Clark added 11.

The Bulldogs will face Amity in the semifinals Friday at 8:15 p.m. Amity is one of just two teams to beat Sutherlin during the regular season. The Warriors beat the Bulldogs 47-41 in the second game of the season on Dec. 2.

The game will be broadcast on i101 FM. Tune in for pregame coverage starting at 8 p.m.

PENDLETON — The Oakland boys beat East Linn Christian 53-41 on Thursday, getting a little bit of revenge for a loss to the Eagles nearly two weeks ago.

Gavyn Woody scored 14 points to lead the Oakers. Oakland led 25-16 at halftime and pulled ahead by as much as 16 points late in the third quarter.

Oakland will face top-seeded Western Christian in the semifinals at 1:30 p.m. Tune in for coverage starting at 1:25 p.m. on The Score 92.3 FM and 1490 AM.

BAKER CITY — The North Douglas girls are moving on to the semifinals after defeating North Clackamas Christian 53-43 Thursday night at Baker High School.

The Warriors jumped out to a 22-13 lead at the end of the first quarter and rode that lead to a victory.

Brooklyn Cyr had a 22 point, 10 rebound double-double for North Douglas.

The Warriors will face Powder Valley Friday at 6 p.m. in the 1A semifinals.

The Elkton boys were eliminated from the 1A state tournament with a 57-38 loss against Lost River on Thursday. The Elks trailed 19-18 at halftime, but the Raiders pulled away by out-scoring Elkton 38-20 in the second half.

Case Boe led Elkton with 11 points. Cael Boe had 7 points and 17 rebounds.

Elkton finished the season with a 19-7 overall record.

The North Douglas boys had an off day Thursday in Baker City after advancing to the semifinals with a win on Wednesday. The Warriors are back to action on Friday in the semifinals against Nixyaawii at 1:45 p.m. from Baker High School.
