WINCHESTER — The Umpqua women’s basketball team needed a fourth quarter comeback to beat Mt. Hood 75-65 Wednesday night in Winchester.

The Riverhawks trailed 56-50 at the end of the third quarter, but out-scored the Saints 25-9 in the final period for the win.

UCC was playing without star Brookly Fely, who ranks second in the Northwest Athletic Conference in scoring average and leads the conference in rebounding. Rachel Noyce stepped in with a 21-point, 16-rebound double-double.

Amaya Afatasi and Emma Aiono both added 15 points for the Riverhawks, who have won three consecutive games and remain one-game behind Lane in the South Region standings.

The Umpqua men cruised by Mt. Hood in the night cap, winning 90-51 . The Riverhawks had four players in double figures, led by Will Harris with 19 points.

UCC turned a 12-point halftime advantage into a runaway by out-scoring the Saints by 27 points in the second half. Creighton Hansen added 18 points for Umpqua.

The UCC women and men will next host Portland on Saturday at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m., respectively.
