The Roseburg High School boys swim team has qualified for a couple of relays and an individual event at the upcoming OSAA swimming state championship meet in Beaverton this weekend.

The Indians will send teams to the meet to compete in the boys 200 medley relay and the 200 freestyle relay. Roseburg’s Jonathan Hlavinka will swim in the boys 200 individual medley.

The state championship events will begin in the pool on Friday at 9 a.m.

Over the weekend the OSAA state cheerleading competition was held at Oregon City High School.

The Roseburg cheerleading team finished fourth at state in the Class 6A large traditional division. The Indians were half a point from overtaking No. 3 Lakeridge in the standings.

The South Umpqua and Oakland cheerleaders also took part in the 3A/2A/1A traditional division, but finished at the bottom of their standings.
