The Roseburg High School football team will have a new head coach in 2024.

After eight seasons at the helm, Roseburg head coach Dave Heuberger has officially submitted his resignation from the position last week. RHS Athletic Director Adam Blue announced the opening on Monday.

Blue said the school is grateful for Heuberger’s dedication to the players and to the development of the community’s youth football program.

The Indians finished this season with a 2-7 record and missed the postseason. Heuberger was not with the team over the final three weeks of the regular season.

Blue says a timeline to find a new head coach has not been determined as of yet, but the school is “determined to find a quality replacement who can ensure our student-athletes receive a positive experience on and off the field.”

Blue also recently announced that Roseburg will be seeking new head coaches for its other fall sports. Lacy Pinard has stepped down as the head coach of the volleyball team. Ronnie Bustamante is resigning his position as the head coach of the boys soccer team.
