SUTHERLIN — The Sutherlin girls’ soccer team saw its season come to an end with a 3-1 loss at home against Creswell in the second round of the 3A/2A/1A state playoffs on Tuesday.

Creswell (13-3) built a 2-0 lead before halftime and scored the game-clinching goal in the final minutes to shut the door on a Sutherlin (11-3-1) comeback.

Senior Kendra Parsons scored Sutherlin’s lone goal late in the second half, cutting Creswell’s lead in half. Sutherlin had to finish the game down one player due to two yellow cards for senior Madison Wagner.

Creswell moves on to the quarterfinals on Saturday against Catlin Gabel.
