Led by the Washington Huskies and Oregon Ducks, the Pac-12 Conference has six teams in the initial College Football Playoff rankings.
The selection committee unveiled the first of six weekly rankings Tuesday night. UW checked in at No. 5, while the Ducks were right behind the Huskies at No. 6. The two teams are just outside the top four, which play for the national championship.
Ohio State, Georgia, Michigan and Florida State make up the four-team playoff field to begin the stretch run.
Oregon State is the third highest ranked Pac-12 team at No. 16.
Utah, UCLA and USC fill the 18th, 19th, and 20th spots in the poll.
The final playoff ranking will be announced Dec. 3 and the national playoff begins with the semifinal games on Jan. 1. The Rose Bowl and Sugar Bowl will serve as the semifinal hosts for this season.
