EUGENE — The Roseburg Indians performed well in the Southwest Conference cross country district meet on Wednesday at Lane Community College.
The RHS girls finished second in the team standings and qualified for the state meet as a team for the second consecutive season. Sylvia Eckman led the way with a second place finish. Roseburg also had Ella McDonald and Vikki Vanderwerff finish in the top 10 at sixth and tenth, respectively.
The Roseburg boys finished fourth as a team, but did qualify three runners for the state meet. Timothy Johnson finished in third place, just a tenth of a second behind second place. Peyton Fisher took fifth and Joseph Latham was 13th.
The OSAA state meet will be held on Nov. 4 at Lane Community College.
