The Roseburg Dr. Stewart’s finished off a season sweep of the Grants Pass Nuggets with a pair of wins Wednesday night at Bill Gray Legion Stadium at Champion Car Wash Field.

The team overcame an early 4-0 deficit in Game 1 to win 16-5 and then Tristan Ledbetter pitched a six-inning, two-hit shutout in the nightcap to lead the Docs to a 10-0 victory.

Both games ended early due to the 10-run Mercy Rule.

The Docs tallied 17 hits, including eight extra base hits, between the two games and took advantage of 22 walks and three hit batters to pull away for the wins.

Cole Collins, Daniel Withers and Logan Anderson all had two doubles during the twin bill.

Roseburg (16-13-1, 7-5 Area 4) is now tied with Medford (21-14, 7-5) for second place in the Area 4 League standings. The Mustangs lost a pair of games Wednesday and went 0-4 against league-leading Emerald Challengers this week.

Medford and the Stewies both have four league matches left to play on the season and the Docs will need to outpace the Mustangs by one win to overtake them in the standings. The Mustangs hold the head-to-head tiebreaker against the Docs.

Dr. Stewart’s will square off with the Emerald Challengers in a four-game series to finish the regular season. The series begins on Sunday in Eugene with a doubleheader at Swede Johnson Stadium. The games get underway at 5 p.m. Roseburg will host the Challengers for a doubleheader on Monday at 5 p.m.
