The Roseburg Dr. Stewart’s American Legion baseball program will have a new skipper in 2023 after head coach Jeremiah Robbins announced he had stepped down from his role with the team.

Robbins finished his second stint as the Docs’ head coach after four years in the position. Over that time, Robbins led to Docs to an 83-63 record, with a final four finish in the state tournament in his final two seasons.

Robbins was also the head coach of the Docs for two seasons in ’03-’04 and played for the team in 1989 and 1990.

He says the decision was made because he needs to focus more on his job as the head coach of the Umpqua Community College baseball team and wants to spend more time with his family.

Below is a full interview with Robbins about his decision and how he thinks the Dr. Stewart’s Legion program moves forward.
