The Medford Mustangs shutout the Roseburg Clint Newell Dr. Stewart’s 11-0 to win the Father’s Day Tournament championship on Sunday at Bill Gray Legion Stadium at Champion Car Wash Field.

Medford and Roseburg will meet again in a single non-league game in Medford on Monday at noon.

The Mustangs built a 4-0 lead off of Docs starter Eli Jacobs, who gave up two hits and five walks over one inning of work. Jacobs was lifted before recording an out in the second inning.

Medford (8-2) smacked 14 hits on the way to the victory. Cody Borragine and Aiden Horsley both had three hits for the ‘Stangs. Cameron Sewell had three RBI on a bases-clearing triple as a part of a five-run sixth inning that gave Medford enough of a lead for a mercy rule victory.

Borragine stifled the Docs, allowing six hits over six innings while striking out seven and walking one. Roseburg (5-3) failed to get a runner past second base.

Kade Johnson and Daniel Withers both had two hits in the game for the Docs.

In other scores from the final day of games in the Father’s Day Tournament, hosted by Roseburg: Boss Baseball of Bend defeated Portland Eastside 14-6, Fairfield beat Corvallis 5-1 and Klamath Falls topped Salem-Withnell 12-2.
