KEIZER — The Umpqua Valley Christian baseball team came up short of winning its fourth state title in school history on Friday night at Volcanoes Stadium.

The Monarchs struggled offensively against Kennedy in an 11-1 loss. The game was cut short after six innings due to the 10-run rule.

UVC mustered just three hits in the loss. Kennedy, which had beaten UVC 4-0 earlier in the season, jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning and rolled from there.
