KEIZER — The South Umpqua baseball team finished off a championship season with a dominating 10-2 win over Santiam Christian in the Class 3A title game Friday at Volcanoes Stadium.

The Lancers scored three times in the first inning to pull ahead early and the offense had seven extra base hits to run away for the first South Umpqua baseball championship since 1979.

Kade Johnson had two doubles and a triple, Jordan Stevenson had a double and a solo home run and Andrew Camp added a pair of two-baggers for S.U.

Jace Johnson earned his 10th win on the mound, scattering 8 hits over 6 2/3 innings, while striking out seven and walking two.
