EVERETT, WASH. — The basketball season came to a close for the Umpqua men’s basketball team in the first round of the Northwest Athletic Conference tournament on Thursday.
The Riverhawks were knocked out of contention in an 82-78 loss against the Bellevue Bulldogs. The game was never separated by more than six points and was tied 10 times.
UCC closed the deficit to within two points on numerous occasions in the second half, but never managed to catch-up with the Bulldogs.
Nathan Webb scored 25 points and had nine rebounds to lead Umpqua. Talon Valdes chipped in 17 and Jake Sampson added 16 for the Riverhawks.
The Umpqua men finished out the season with a 22-5 record.
