The Portland Trail Blazers game scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 23 against the Brooklyn Nets has been postponed, the NBA announced Wednesday.
The Nets do not have the league-required eight available players to proceed with the game. The league also announced Wednesday that Toronto’s game at Chicago has also been postponed.
Brooklyn reportedly has a league-high 10 players in the health and safety protocols, including stars Kevin Durant, James Harden and Kyrie Irving.
The moves raise the total number of postponements this season in the NBA to nine because of virus-related reasons, including three consecutive Nets games that have needed to be rescheduled.
Portland’s next scheduled contest is a home game against the Dallas Mavericks on Monday, Dec. 27.
