The NBA offseason will be a short one this year, but it is shaping up to be an offseason with plenty of action as a number of reported trades went down on Monday.

The Portland Trail Blazers were part of that action, reportedly shipping Trevor Ariza and two draft picks to the Houston Rockets in exchange for Robert Covington, according to Adrian Wojnarowski at ESPN.

Covington is a 6-foot-7, seven-year vet who can play multiple positions in the frontcourt. He played 70 games last season with both the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Rockets. He averaged 12.4 points, 6.6 rebounds and just over one steal, assist and blocked shot per game.

Covington has two years left on his current contract.

Ariza played 21 games for Portland last season and averaged 11 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2 assists per game. He has one year left on his current deal.

The two draft picks the Blazers are giving up are a first round pick this year and a pick in the 2021 draft.

The deal can’t be finalized until after Wednesday’s draft.
