Oregon junior TJ Bass and Oregon State redshirt junior Champ Flemings both earned a Pac-12 weekly award after standout performances in week two of the season. The conference announced the awards on Monday.
For a second consecutive week, the Oregon Ducks have earned the offensive lineman of the week award. TJ Bass, the starting left guard for the Ducks, was the best guard in the Pac-12 last weekend, according to Pro Football Focus. Bass didn’t allow a hit or hurry on quarterback Tyler Shough in 25 pass blocking snaps. He also finished with the second-best run-blocking grade in the Pac-12.
Bass was making just his second start at the Division-I level. He becomes the fifth Ducks’ offensive lineman to win the honor since its inception before the 2019 season.
Oregon State’s Champ Flemings was selected as the special teams player of the week. He returned four kickoffs on Saturday against Washington, for a total of 125 yards. Two of his returns went for 40 or more yards.
Flemings is the first Oregon State kick/punt returner to be recognized since Jordan Poyer in 2011.
