Former Oregon quarterback Justin Herbert was named the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Month for October on Thursday.

The signal caller for the Los Angeles Chargers has thrown for 901 yards with 10 touchdowns and one interception, while completing 66 percent of his passes during three games this month. Herbert’s Chargers went 1-2 in those three games, but the two losses came by a combined 10 points.

Herbert has performed well in his rookie season, despite his win-loss record, and has entered his name in the NFL history books with some of his stat lines. The Eugene-native will look to continue his hot start this weekend as the Chargers are scheduled to head to Denver to face the Broncos.
