The Portland Trail Blazers announced Friday that further medical testing showed that forward Zach Collins has a hairline medial malleolus stress fracture of his left ankle and will miss the remainder of the season.

Trail Blazers president of basketball operations Neil Olshey says the injury will require surgery to repair. A date for surgery is to be determined.

Collins suffered the injury during Portland’s play-in game victory against Memphis on Saturday and has missed the last two games against the Los Angeles Lakers. The big-man had started in Portland’s eight seeding games after the NBA resumed play. It was his first action since injuring his shoulder after three games at the start of the regular season in October 2019.

Collins posted averages of 7.0 points (47.1% FG, 36.8% 3-PT, 75.0% FT), 6.3 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 0.45 blocks.
