The Pac-12 Conference announced Friday afternoon that the college football season will begin Sept. 26 with a revamped schedule that will conclude with the conference championship game on Dec. 18 or 19.
The schedule includes only conference games for all 12 member institutions and allows for plenty of flexibility. Each team has a bye week and the week of Dec. 12 has been left open to make up for any postponed contests.
The Oregon State Beavers are slated to begin their season at home against the Cal Bears, while Oregon starts the 2020 season at home against Colorado. All teams in the conference will be scheduled for five home and five road games.
Teams can begin mandatory summer activites on Aug. 3 for up to 20 hours a week. Those activities would include weight training, team meetings and conditioning. Fall camp practices will begin Aug. 17. In all cases, workouts and practices are subject to allowance by public health orders and medical advice.
The Pac-12 Football Championship Game will be held in a home-hosted model for 2020. The conference will delay the beginning of its two-year agreement with Allegiant Stadium and the Raiders to hold the championship game in Las Vegas.
