The Roseburg Docs baseball team started out its 4th of July tournament by dropping its 5th consecutive game in a 10-2 loss to Eugene Wednesday night at Champion Car Wash Field.

Once again it was late game troubles that cost the Docs. Roseburg led 1-0 after two innings, but Eugene took a 3-1 lead in the third. The Docs got back within a run in the fourth inning, but the Challengers put the finishing touches on the game by scoring seven runs over the final three innings.

Eugene collected 10 hits and took advantage of four Roseburg errors. Three players for the Challengers finished with multiple hits, including Carson Lydon who went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer.

Logan Klopfenstein had two singles for half of the Docs hits. He drove in the second run for Roseburg to get the Docs within 3-2. Doran Gillespie had a two-out single in the first to put the Docs up 1-0 at the time.
