After a run to the Class 3A state championship game earlier this month, the Sutherlin girls’ basketball team landed four players on this year’s All-State teams.

Junior Jaydn Vermillion and senior Kiersten Haines were both first team selections. The duo helped lead the Bulldogs to a runner-up finish at state and both earned all-tournament honors for their efforts.

Vermillion was also second in the state player of the year voting behind Shelby Blodgett from state champion Clastkanie. Vermillion was named the Far West League MVP at the end of the regular season.

Sutherlin’s Amy Dickover and Micah Wicks also earned honorable mention honors.

South Umpqua senior Shalyn Gray also received honorable mention recognition. She helped guide the Lancers to a 14-9 record and a fourth place finish in the Far West League.
