Even with the college basketball season over, Oregon’s Payton Pritchard remains in the national spotlight.

CBS Sports announced its college basketball All-American teams on Monday and Pritchard was a first team selection after helping lead the Ducks to a Pac-12 regular season title.

Pritchard averaged 20.5 points and 5.5 assists per game this year, while shooting 41.5% from 3-point range.

He came up big down the stretch when the Ducks needed him the most. The senior averaged 25.5 points a game over the final six games of the year, helping Oregon rally-back to win the regular season Pac-12 Conference title outright.

Also on the first team were Markus Howard from Marquette, Dayton’s Obi Toppin, Iowa’s Luka Garza and Udoka Azubuike from Kansas.

Pritchard has also been named one of five finalists for the Naismith Trophy, given annually to the top men’s basketball player in the nation. Pritchard is the first finalist for the award from the University of Oregon.

The other finalists include Toppin, Garza, Azubuike and Myles Powell from Seton Hall.

The 2020 Naismith Trophy is scheduled to be announced on April 3, 2020. A fan vote will account for 5% of the overall vote. Fans can go to NaismithFanVote.com from March 20-April 1 to cast a vote or vote on the @NaismithTrophy Twitter page between March 25-April 1.
