ALLEN, TX — On a weekend where sporting events were getting canceled left and right, the Umpqua Community College women’s wrestling team was out on the mat to finish its season at the National Collegiate Wrestling Association national championships in Allen, Texas.

Freshman Grace Miller and sophomore Jade Piper each won individual championships and the Riverhawks had six All-Americans while finishing second in the team standings.

The top-seeded Miller needed only 2:09 to pin MacKayla Rosalas of Schreiner University in Texas to win the 143-pound bracket. Piper, the four-seed at 170 pounds, pinned Lena Flanagan of Pacific Lutheran in just 0:43 to win the title.

UCC (119.5 points) finished runner-up to Schreiner University (170.5).

Other top four finishers and All-Americans for the Riverhawks were Esthella Trevino (3rd at 101), Mariah Annis (2nd at 123), Tatum Pine (3rd at 130) and Lillian Restrepo (4th at 155).

Also placing for the Riverhawks were Sienna Lejeune (5th at 170), Richelle Rolfe (7th at 136) and Abe Jolley (7th at 170).
