VANCOUVER, WA — The Northwest Athletic Conference men’s and women’s basketball tournaments are resuming Thursday after getting postponed last weekend due to COVID-19.

The conference relocated tournament games from Everett, Washington, but announced Wednesday night that game attendance will also be limited to just team members, coaches and game management in an effort to maintain public health.

The top-ranked Umpqua women’s basketball team begins its postseason at Linn-Benton Community College with a first round tournament game against Everett.

The RiverHawks will play at 2 p.m. rather than their originally scheduled noon start. The Lane women have withdrawn from the tournament and the NWAC pushed the UCC ladies to a later start for scheduling purposes.

Administrators at Lane Community College made the decision to withdraw the team from competition due to health concerns, according to a tweet from Lane Titans women’s basketball account.

The Umpqua men are still scheduled to begin their postseason with a first round game against Treasure Valley at 4 p.m. at Clackamas Community College.

If the RiverHawks win, they’ll play again Friday. The final four and championship games will all be played at Clackamas Community College on Saturday and Sunday.
