The NCAA Division I women’s basketball committee released its latest top 16 seed projections Monday night, two weeks ahead of Selection Monday when the committee will announce its final rankings for all 64 teams in the NCAA tournament field.
The Oregon Ducks remained one of four No. 1 seeds as the third-ranked team overall. If the season were to end today, the Ducks would be the top-seeded team in the Portland Regional. The committee also placed UConn, Northwestern and DePaul in the Portland Regional to round out the top four seeds.
Oregon State remained in the top 16 at No. 14, meaning the Beavers would be a 4-seed for the tournament. OSU is currently in the Greenville Regional with top-overall seed South Carolina. UCLA and NC State are the two and three seeds, respectively, in that region.
The full women’s NCAA basketball tournament field will be announced March 16.
