It’s on to the second round of Class 1A state playoffs for the Days Creek boys, who defeated Mapleton 46-32 Wednesday night in a first round home game.
The Wolves played strong defense from the start, holding the Sailors to less than 10 points in each of the first three quarters. Offensively, Days Creek used a balanced attack to pull away for the win.
Evan Gaskell and Zane DeGroot each had nine points to lead Days Creek.
The Wolves will move on to face Prairie City in the second round on Saturday.
While Days Creek is moving on, the season came to an end for the North Douglas boys. The Warriors lost 81-45 against Triad in Klamath Falls Wednesday night.
North Douglas started strong with a 31-point first half, but the Warriors struggled to keep up the offense after the break. Jake Gerrard scored 12 points to lead the way for the Warriors.
North Douglas finished 18-10 on the year.
