WINCHESTER — The Umpqua men’s basketball team improved to 4-0 on the year by defeating New Hope Christian College 100-74 Wednesday night out at the UCC Winchester campus.

The RiverHawks pulled ahead big in the first half and led 58-32 at the break. UCC shot 60% from the floor in the first half and made 7 of 13 from behind the arc. Umpqua led by as many as 33 points in the contest.

Kolten Mortensen led the way for the RiverHawks with 24 points and seven rebounds. Hayden Wood made five 3-pointers off the bench and finished with 19 points for UCC.

The RiverHawks are back to action on Friday against the University of Oregon club team.
