The high school soccer postseason gets underway Tuesday for the Douglas girls soccer team. The Trojans are headed off to begin the state playoffs at Santiam Chrisitan. The Eagles (12-0-2, 7-0-1 SD3) were also league champs in girls soccer, while the Trojans (6-3-4, 5-2-2 SD4) finished second in their league.
The first round playoff game gets underway at 6 p.m.
The Sutherlin (10-5, 10-4 SD4) boys soccer team hits the road for Medford to square off with the St. Mary’s Crusaders (13-0-1, 12-0 SD5) on Wednesday afternoon. The Bulldogs face a tall task in the first round. The Crusaders won their league championship after going undefeated on the year.
Sutherlin finished the season third in its league standings, but enters the postseason on a three-match winning streak.
Sutherlin and St. Mary’s kickoff at 4 p.m. from US Cellular Field in Medford.
The Umpqua Valley Chrisitan (12-3, 11-3 SD4) boys will also have to upset a regular season league champ to keep their season going.
The Monarchs took second in their league during the regular season and now face Special District 3 champ Santiam Christian (11-2-1, 9-2-1 SD3). UVC heads to Adair Village, northwest of Albany, for the first round playoff matchup at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
