The season came to an end for the Roseburg High volleyball team on Wednesday. The Indians fell in straight sets to Mountainside in the first round of the Class 6A volleyball state playoffs.

Set scores were 25-8, 25-11 and 25-17.

The RHS girls finished the first year under head coach Vicki Crowl with a 10-14 overall record and finished fourth in the Southwest Conference.

The North Douglas volleyball team swept McKenzie Wednesday to advance to the second round of the Class 1A state playoffs. Scores in the three-set match were 25-18, 25-7 and 25-19.

The 12-seed Warriors advance to face 5-seed Rogue Valley Adventist Academy in the second round on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the Elkton girls lost in straight sets (25-14, 25-21, 25-17) to Central Christian on Wednesday in Redmond and were eliminated from the 1A state playoffs. The Elks finish the season with a 13-10 overall record.

Skyline League champion Days Creek will begin its postseason on Saturday in the second round agianst 15-seed Joseph. The Wolves had a first round bye as a league champ. Joseph won in four sets against Prairie City.
