EUGENE — The Umpqua Community College volleyball team started slow, rallied back, but ultimately fell to the Lane Titans in three sets on Wednesday in Eugene.
The RiverHawks (16-13; 2-6 South) were blown out in the first set, but fought back to make the match more competitive. The set scores were 25-12, 26-24 and 25-17.
Johanna Pope led UCC with 7 kills in the match. Shayla Limatoc had 14 digs to lead the RiverHawks defense and Katelyn Crawford had a team-high 12 assists.
Roseburg High graduate Taylor Russell led Lane (17-8; 8-1 South) with a team-best 22 assists. She added 9 digs and 2 kills.
Up next for the RiverHawks is another league match. Clackamas visits UCC on Saturday at 2 p.m.
