Nash Singleton

FARGO, N.D. — Roseburg wrestler Nash Singleton earned a third place finish at the U.S.A Wrestling 16U national tournament on Monday at North Dakota State University.

Singleton defeated Levi Haines of Johnstown, Pennsylvania 10-0 in the Cadet Freestyle 113 pound third place bout. The match lasted just two minutes.

The soon-to-be Roseburg High sophomore went 7-1 in the tournament. His only loss of the tournament came in the championship semifinals, where Singleton lost by technical fall to eventual champion Wilfried Tanefeu from North Dakota.

The Roseburg Mat Club also sent four other wrestlers to Fargo for nationals. Rhett Martin had a 2-2 record in the Cadet Freestyle tournament. In the Junior Freestyle tournament Tristan David was 2-2, Logan Folsom went 1-2 and Adam Leaton was 0-2.
