CORVALLIS — Cade Meisner and Cody Johnson combined to allow just five hits to the Mid-Coast Dungies and the Roseburg Dr. Stewart’s finished off the Mickey Riley Star-Spangled Tournament with a 5-2 on Sunday.

Meisner and Johnson each allowed a run and combined to strikeout four, while walking three. The Docs finished the tournament with a 2-2 record.

Johnson earned the win in relief to improve to 3-1 on the year.

Dr. Stewart’s (17-11) took the lead for good with a run in the fourth inning. Jett Black drove in Doran Gillespie with a single to left field to put the Docs ahead 2-1.

Jonathan Stone picked up a RBI in the fifth on a bases loaded walk to put the Docs up 3-1. Mid-Coast scored one run in the fifth to get back within a run, but Sam Guasteferro put the game out of reach for the Dungies with a two-run double in the sixth.

Mid-Coast (7-14) went 0-4 in the tournament.

Dr. Stewart’s will next face Willamette Valley in an Area 4 doubleheader on Monday night at Bill Gray Stadium at Legion Field. The Titans are in first place and four games ahead of the third place Docs.
