SPRINGFIELD – The Roseburg swim teams will send a number of swimmers to the state meet this week at the Tualatin Hills Aquatic Center after qualifying at the district meet over the weekend.

Hunter Agsten and Brighid Rickman each won individual events to automatically qualify for state and the Indians also qualified their boys 200 and 400 freestyle relay teams and the girls 400 free style relay team.

Agsten won the boys 500 free, while Rickman won the girls 100 free. She’ll also compete in the 50 free after finishing third at the district meet with a state qualifying time. Logan Todd and Dominic Colvin also qualified for state as wild cards. They’ll compete in in the boy’s 50 free and 100 backstroke, respectively.

The state swim meet begins on Friday with the preliminary rounds. The state meet was moved from Mt. Hood Community College to Tualatin Hills Aquatic Center due to repairs needed to be made on the Mt. Hood pool.
