ROSEBURG – It was a night filled with many record-setting and big moments for the Roseburg boys basketball team on Tuesday. Multiple scoring records were either tied or broken as the Indians cruised to a 77-55 win over South Eugene and improved to 2-0 in Southwest Conference play.

Collin Warmouth tied his career-high with 38 points and broke the Roseburg school record for career scoring, surpassing the 1,282 points scored by Joe Newton from 1999-2002. Warmouth, a senior, now has 1,310 points in his career with at least nine more games to play.

Roseburg (12-4; 2-0 SWC) fell behind South Eugene 4-0 in the early going, but went on a 13-0 run to pull ahead 13-4 in the first quarter. South Eugene (12-4; 1-1 SWC) finished the quarter on a 8-3 run and got back within four.

The game remained close through the second quarter and Roseburg led 30-27 at halftime. South Eugene kept things tight in the third quarter, but Roseburg senior Carson Ellis scored seven of his 12 points in the period to help the Indians extend the lead to five.

Roseburg polished off the game in the fourth quarter by going 18-for-19 from the free throw line. South Eugene tried to use fouls as a way to manage the clock and spark a rally, but the Indians didn’t miss. Roseburg finished the game shooting 31-of-34 from the charity stripe.

Warmouth went to the line the most for Roseburg. He was a perfect 18-of-18 from the line, tying his own school record for most made free throws in a single game. Warmouth broke the previous record for free throws made in a game just four days earlier in a 56-52 win against Sheldon.

The Indians had three players finish in double figures. Joining Warmouth and Ellis was Merhawi Lake. The senior scored a career-high 13 points, making 7-of-9 from the line.

Aidan Clark led South Eugene with 16 points before fouling out in the fourth quarter. The big-man had 11 in the first half, but was held scoreless in the fourth quarter. Junior Bryce Boettcher came off the bench to add 10 points for the Axe.

The loss ended a six-game winning streak for South Eugene. Roseburg remains in a tie for first in the Southwest Conference. North Medford also improved to 2-0 in the SWC with a 63-60 comeback victory against Sheldon on Tuesday.

Up next, the Roseburg boys will hit the road for the first time in conference play. The Indians visit the South Medford Panthers on Friday. Tipoff is scheduled for 6:45 p.m. Tune in for coverage of the game on CBS Sports Radio 1490 The Score or watch online at 541radio.com.
